AMSA Youth Project 2020
“Depression and Suicide Prevention : Break The Silence”
AMSA Youth Project (AYP) is one of the biggest medical and public competitions for all Indonesian high school students! Held by Association of Asian Medical Students’ Universitas Gadjah Mada (AMSA-UGM), AYP is an ambitious project dedicated as a way for future generations to express themselves and upgrade their knowledge, skills as well as a compassion for the society.
AYP Online will be held on 14-15 November 2020
Going bigger and bolder, with the theme of “Depression and Suicide Prevention : Break The Silence”, we aim to end the stigma, shed light, and start a conversation on issues surrounding mental health and how it’s just as important as physical health. It really is a big deal, so let’s talk about it!
Starting fresh, this year’s AYP will hold four different competitions for all high schoolers to participate, including Medical Olympiad, Public Essay Competition, Photography Competition, and Social Campaign Competition. Sounds interesting? You bet it, so what are you waiting for?! Buckle up your seats and get ready cause a brand new AYP is coming your way!
Say you know yourself pretty well? Let’s take the whole “knowing yourself” to another level and put it to the test!
Participate in one of the most prestigious medical olympiads for high schoolers! This competition will test your basic medical knowledge, including physiology, anatomy, and histology. Ready to be crowned as the next genius? We’d say here is a good place to start.
Test your individual skills as you battle through to find the answers. ONE minute for ONE multiple choice questions - we did the math for you - totaling a grand of 100 general physiology questions in 100 minutes! Just like your mamma said, you got it!
Quick thinking and collaboration is the key! The top 50 teams from Youth Online will continue to compete in a series of quick short questions covering anatomy and histology. Remember time is of the essence, but don’t let the nerves get to you!
Are you a true medical champion? In this last round consisting of the final five teams, you will work together to solve a SOCA-PH (Structured Objective Case Analysis – Public Health) revolving around a certain theme. Only THREE WINNERS will get the final prize, so prepare your gearz and brainz to be the champion!
Sometimes the best way to ignite change is to speak up, or maybe write it down in paper. Mental health, while important to all, is trivialized by many. Set your mind free, let your words flow, and let them move people's souls and change people's minds. In these troubled times, anyone - if brave enough - can be an agent of change!
A picture is worth a thousand words. Express the world through your lens and let their voices be heard! Unravel the beauty in the simplest things and challenge yourself to look at a new perspective. We can't wait to see the stories you’ll tell!
You can’t go to war without any ammunition - okay maybe tone it down at bit. Point is, you can’t go on living life without skills! In this opportunity you stumbled upon, we offer you two workshops, both equipped with the best and credible speakers, awesome materials, hands-on learning, great discussions, and new insights. Topics will revolve around photography and public essays. We can go on and on describing what it’ll be like but we think it’s only best for you to experience it first-hand! Unlike attending awkward family gatherings, this is definitely something you wouldn’t want to miss!
Ever imagine what it’s like to be a medical student? Sounds like a dream come true? Well, we pulled some strings to make it work and now we offer you your dream, modified of course! Here’s an exclusive medical open house experience presented by AMSA-Universitas Gadjah Mada. We hope this will give you an idea on what being a medical student is really like, sharing sessions with successful seniors, studying tips, a virtual tour of our beloved campus, and many more!
